The Rise and Fall of My Pants Tour Interview: Part One

He is We Fansite:

Starting off with some fan questions, how is the plunger collection going Trevor?

Trevor Kelly:

You know what, this is horrible, but you can ask Rachel, every guy in the band is very forgetful.  I’ll get one, and I’ll stick it to stuff, leave it at the merch table and stuff, and it lasts like two weeks before I lose it.

Rachel Wojcik:

I think you had about three.

Trevor:

I’ve had about three at once.  Yeah, the most we’ve had is three, but we’ve gotten a total of like seven over the course of the last year, which is insane.  I just keep losing them, and it’s horrible.

He is We Fansite:

Have you been planking on any cool objects lately?

Rachel:

My husband.

Trevor:

You planked on him?

*Laughter*

This is the bad part about an audio you can’t tell you we’re joking.  But no kidding, she planks on him all the time.

Rachel:

I thought it was funny.

Trevor:

No, that was hilarious; I just didn’t get it at first.

Rachel:

No, but whenever we’re with fans and stuff.

Trevor:

I plank all the time.  You can just read people.  You can tell whether they are going to think it’s cool or not, or if they are just going to “Why is laying on the ground, is he really tired or something?”  Or, I was at Niagara Falls the other day and I convinced myself not to plank on the bridge.

Rachel:

Why didn’t you!

Trevor:

Because you know how far that is, the bridge between the US and Canada?  That’s like a mile drop.  That’s an exaggeration, but it looks like a mile.

Rachel:

It’s an elaboration.

He is We Fansite:

What’s your favorite song you’ve written and why?

Trevor:

Prove You Wrong.  I mean, we’ve always said that.  Just the progression of the song from where it was to what it is now.  And it’s just fun to play because it’s the most high energy, I guess you would call it.

Rachel:

Anyways, it’s just really fun.  I agree it was just one of the songs where we were really excited to see where it would go and we’re just stoked on it. Stoked to play it, stoked to listen to it, my dad likes it.

Trevor:

You know it’s always good when you’re parents like your music.

Rachel:

MHMMMM.

He is We Fansite:

When can we expect new music?

Trevor:

New music.  Our July is actually done, now it’s just so it’s just strategic timing on when it comes out.  Which is progress, because usually we’re like “We have to find time,” but it is done.

He is We Fansite:

So then what’s the strategy?

Trevor:

Well basically, we have to do it before the new record, while we’re working on music, or getting close to the release.  You know, we don’t want to release it now and then have it go and die out in a couple months when our next record comes out, or if it doesn’t come out for a year, you know what I mean?

He is We Fansite:

Have you started the new record at all yet?

Trevor:

Well, me and Rachel are constantly writing, but we haven’t really gotten in that record environment yet and sat down and wrote in a studio.  But after this tour, it should start happening.

He is We Fansite:

How is the current tour going by the way?

Trevor:

Magical.  Can’t you tell by this awesome couch and flea market setting?  No, that’s not kidding, it’s actually awesome.

He is We Fansite:

The lead singer from Paradise fears said that “Rachel really keeps me in place…. and borrow her clothes.”

Trevor:

Oh yeah, that’s what I was about to say; she lets him wear all of his star wars clothes and stuff.

Rachel:

He deserves so much better than what he’s been wearing.  He deserves better.  Just saying.

He is We Fansite:

If you could tour with anyone who would it be?

Trevor:

Coldplay… or U2…. Or Pink Floyd.

Rachel:

Taking Back Sunday.

Trevor:

Oh my god.  We get it moods, like if you were to ask yesterday we probably would have said Enya.  If you ask us today, it’s going to be Taking Back Sunday, or I think Coldplay is my consistent one. Or someone new like The Script.

Rachel:

Matchbox 20!

Trevor:

Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, voodoo dolls.

He is We Fansite:

What is your favorite song to cover?

Rachel:

We actually have just been talking about this, we were thinking about covering Matisyahu’s One Day: his new song with Akon.

Trevor:

Minus Akon.

Rachel:

Yeah, we don’t have him available.  What were we doing, we were doing a bunch of church songs.

Trevor:

Rachel sometimes, if we have time to kill because I break a string or something will sing some Nelly, or Eminem or the Darkness.  She’ll be like “Meh spaghetti” I don’t know what the rap is.

Rachel:

“There’s vomit on his sweater already.”

Trevor:

See, I don’t know.  If I ever break a string, you’ll get to hear a bit of that.

He is We Fansite:

Who runs the He is We Twitter and Facebook?

Trevor:

I am one of the administrators on Facebook, and then twitter is an accumulation of all of the members of the group even Harrison, Carmen, Jake, and Rachel.  I’m kind of twitter illiterate so I’ll rarely do it unless there’s something funny, or I’ll ask someone else to do it like “Can someone ask if anyone wants to carve pumpkins tonight?”

Part two will be going up at some point later this week!
